The circular dish has an everted rim with nine lobes, deep sides and a flat centre, standing on a wide footring. The middle of the well is decorated with a long bust of William, Prince of Orange, three-quarters to left, wearing a voluminous wig, a cravatte, and armour. On the left of his head are the initials 'PW' and on the right, 'D 3'. Behind him on the right is a curving spray of alternately white and green pairs of leaves.
