object type: Tin-glazed cream overall and painted in pale blue, green, yellow, and dark yellow. The plate is circular with slightly sloping sides, and shallow well, standing on a narrow footring pierced by two correctly-placed suspension holes. In the middle there is a bust of a woman shown three-quarter face, enclosed by green, yellow, and blue concentric circles. The border comprises alternating flowers and saltire crosses with leaves in the spaces. Round the outer edge there are two narrow dark yellow bands and a wider yellow band, with dark yellow slanting strokes over it.
