object type: Animal figure.  Soft-paste porcelain, slip-cast (?), and covered with lead-glaze which is very slightly blue. The unglazed underside has a small round ventilation hold below the dog's hind quarters. There is a very slight depression near the centre with a wandering firing crack.The roughly oval base is edged with scrolls. The dog, possibly a pug, sits on its right haunch with its front paws apart, and scratches its left ear with its left foot. It has rounded floppy ears, and a smooth coat.
