The glaze has run over the edges onto the reverse. Oval with a raised edge and two suspension holes at the top. At the bottom there is a calyx of acanthus foliage with a conical projection below. Rising from the leaves there is a three-quarter length figure of a man in early 17th century costume, holding out his right hand in which there is a deep tumbler to serve as a candle socket. The arm and hand were moulded separately and applied before glazing.C.317-19911accession numberC.317-199174447priref74447198919891989packing numberEURCER 99urihttps://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/74447https://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/74447rectangular with cut corners and red borderon reversehand-written in pencilGautier/Oct.2.1923labelcircular white paper label with serrated edgeon backhand-written in pencil281labelreferenceagent-149638adlib-agent-1496387376d833-d0a7-3be0-916e-9c892b7a24d8The Fitzwilliam MuseumH.S.
