object type: Buff earthenware, the front tin-glazed and painted in pale shades of blue, pale-green, yellow, and manganese-purple; the reverse covered with pale yellow lead-glaze. Circular with curved sides and everted rim, standing on a footring. Archer, 1997 Shape B. Decorated with a bare-headed man wearing armour, and a sash with two tails streaming out behind him, and holding a marshall's baton in his right hand, mounted on a horse galloping to the left between highly stylized trees. In the foreground there are five blue tufts over five alternating areas of green and yellow with blue or orange horizontal striations over them.  The edge is encircled by a yellow line and large, spaced, blue dashes.
