The man is seated facing the front with his feet apart, and holds the handle of a foaming jug of ale in his left hand and supports it with his right. He has shoulder-length grey hair, and his eyes and eyebrows are also grey. He wears a grey tricorne hat, with a removable crown, a bluish-white waistcoat under a long blue coat with pockets, and orange cuffs with three black buttons on each; orange breeches with three black buttons at the knees, stockings with patterned with brown wavy stripes and orange zig-zags, and grey shoes with bows on top. His yellow jug is decorated with brown spots and V-shapes.
