IDENTIFIERS ----------- id: 76256 accession number: C.871-1928 DATE AUDIT ---------- created: Saturday 6 August 2011 updated: Tuesday 13 December 2022 DESCRIPTIVE DATA ---------------- object type: Cream earthenware, press-moulded in parts, assembled, and decorated with clear and coloured lead-glazes: green, pale yellow, pale brown, very dark brown, greyish-purple, and a little blue. The figure is supported on a low square base with straight sides covered with clear, faintly yellowish glaze. It is hollow underneath and has a circular ventilation hole in the centre under the figure. The girl stands beside a brown tree trunk on a low mound with roughly fluted sides coloured brown, and decorated on top with two green applied flowers and leaves. She faces towards the viewer, and stands with her right foot turned out. Over her bent right arm she holds a pale yellow basket of fruit which rests on top of the tree trunk, and in her left hand holds a bunch of grapes dangling down beside her. She wears a close fitting yellowish-white cap, a green laced up bodice over a white chemise, a greyish-purple skirt, and a mostly white sash with blue spots.
