A young man and woman are seated at different levels on a tree-stump, each holding a basket. He rests his basked on the stump on his right and she rests her basket on her knees in front of her. The young man wears a black hat, a white coat with blue edging, a yellow waistcoat, pale brown breeches, and black shoes with blue bows; the girl has a white cap, a lilac bodice over a white chemise, a flowered skirt, and black shoes with blue bows.
