The closed underside has a central ventilation hole. The base is square with straight sides canted inwards on the underside, and is decorated on each side with a continuous maroon band. The young man stands on a rounded area of blue ice with grooved sides, which has a brown and green tree stump at the back. He looks down and turns his head towards his left as he steps forward on his right foot, clasping his arms and hands together in front of him. He has brown hair partly hidden by a high crowned black hat with broad brim which is upturned at the front.
