The box is of a tapering rectangular form with a recessed base, and sides and ends moulded as sticks of asparagus. Its top has a tapering rectangular aperture with a raised edge over which the lid fits. The lid is similarly moulded but shallower. The asparagus stalks are painted pale green with darker green tips and purple and pale purple details.
