There are two internal recesses for a knife and a fork. The front and back of the sheath are divided into five panels each contining an Old Testament vignette, including Adam and Eve being tempted by the serpent, their expulsion from Paradise and the Judgement of Solomon; above each is inscribed 'VANSCHEF', 'VANADAM', ' VANENCEL', 'VANSAM', 'SAMS', 'VANHETER', 'VANNATA', SALOMON', 'VANSVS' and 'VANSAM'.
