The shallow, rounded sides spring from a low tapered foot. The interior has a slightly recessed centre which is very delicately painted with three butterflies hovering beside a red-berried bough with bright leaves of green and turquoise. The branches extend over the rim onto the underside which is also decorated with two aubergine and pale yellow butterflies.
