Scope note

Use for the process of applying a protective coating and decorative painting to land vehicles, primarily those drawn by draft animals, such as carriages, wagons, and sleighs; encompasses the application of primer, ground color, and varnish, lettering, striping and other ornamentation, and the painting of pictures such as coats of arms and flower wreaths.
