Additive color processes

Scope note

Photographic processes that record a color image by making three records of the scene on a monochrome plate or film, each record filtered for one of the three primary colors (red, green, and blue). The image is viewed by reassembling in register each of the separate records, each record being shown by the light of its own record, that is, the red record is displayed with red light.
