Subtractive color processes

Scope note

Photographic processes using cyan, magenta, and yellow dyes or inks to produce a full-color image. Each dye permits two of the primary colors to pass, while blocking the third; a combination of two dyes (on separate filters) will allow only a single primary to pass.
