Use for sharp pointed implements used in Pre-Columbian Mesoamerican cultures to prick the flesh and draw blood to offer as a self-sacrifice to the gods; includes both manmade implements resembling daggers or spikes with handles, and natural objects such as thorns or stingray stings.
