Use for self-contained residential communities which provide extensive services for the complete daily needs of residents, including dining, medical, recreation, entertainment and, possibly, estate care facilities. Distinguished from "continuing care retirement communities" by normally requiring a one-time up-front fee instead of monthly charges, which may be variable over the duration of the residency. For similar facilities for retired people in which the services offered are less comprehensive, use "retirement communities."
