Tables en chiffonnière

Scope note

Small ladies' work tables in their classic form with galleries around its top and the shelf joining its legs to provide shallow receptacles into which one could place chiffons (scraps of ribbon and cloth) and other needlework materials; either square or circular in form and generally having three drawers, the uppermost sometimes fitted with writing equipment.
