Use for the Highland Scottish sheath knives, daggerlike in appearance, having a blade with a single full-length cutting edge and a back which has a sharpened edge extending up for a short distance from the point, and a grip swelling in the center with a disc-shaped pommel. Use also for the short swords or daggers carried by navy officers in the 18th and 19th centuries.
