Maker/s: Unknown Description: Tile. Buff earthenware, the upper surface covered with a thin wash of white slip and painted in cobalt-blue, turquoise, green and sealing-wax red with black outlines. Square. Part of a reticulated design. Two bands of flowers, reserved in blue, form an ogee and an inverted ogee, linked by cloud scrolls at centre. In the panels so formed, half palmettes and sprays of hyacinths, tulips and roses. Ebonized wood frame. Production Place: Turkish, Diyarbakir (previously attributed to Isnik) Dimensions: height: (whole): 35.7 cm, width: (whole): 35.5 cm Date: 1550 to 1600
