The upper rim of the bowl has an applied frieze of strapwork and scrolling folliage within two moulded borders. The handles have lanceolate wavy-edged leaves at each upper end and a rib of husks on the exterior. The decoration of the cover follows that of the foot, but rises to a dome with reeded border topped by wavy edged leaves and an inverted pineapple finial. Decorated with cast and chased, applied, embossed and matted ornament and engraved with a coat of arms. Silver-gilt, height, overall, 59.9 cm, width, overall, 38.7 cm, 1799-1800. Neoclassical. Notes: The coat-of-arms on the dexter side are for Feeke, Feake or Feke of Wighton, Norfolk, or Hewster of Norfolk. The arms on the sinister side have not been identified, but could be for Shelley of Norfolk if the field was gules not azure.
