Silver-gilt; the circular foot has a reeded edge above which is a band of leaf and bud ornament on a matted ground; the stem is embossed with bat's wing inverted fluting with an area of matting at the lower end of the flutes. The lower part of the tapering bowl has a calyx of lanceolate, wavy-edged leaves, above which, on each side of the body, is an oval medallion framed by husks. One medallion contains a plaque, cast and chased with two race horses and their jockeys racing in a landscape; the other is engraved with a coat of arms, sable a fess dancetty or in chief three fleur de lis argent impaling azure three uniorns' heads erased argent 2 and 1. Above each medallion there is an applied festoon of flowers and foliage from which depend two more festoons on either side, which loop up to meet the handles. The upper rim of the bowl has an applied frieze of strapwork and scrolling folliage within two moulded borders. The handles have lanceolate wavy-edged leaves at each upper end and a rib of husks on the exterior. The decoration of the cover follows that of the foot, but rises to a dome with reeded border topped by wavy edged leaves and an inverted pineapple finial.
History note: The coat-of-arms on the dexter side are for Feeke, Feake or Feke of Wighton, Norfolk, or Hewster of Norfolk. The arms on the sinister side have not been identified, but could be for Shelley of Norfolk if the field was gules not azure.
