Silver chocolate pot, by Michel II Delapierre

An image of Chocolate Pot/Teapot/Hot Milk Jug. Delapierre, Michel II (French, Paris, master 1737, recorded 1785). Half fluted almost spherical body with wood handle. The short beak-like spout has a heart-shaped opening. The hinged cover is flat and gadrooned, and has a acorn-shaped finial. The jug stands on three scroll legs with fleur-de lis, scroll and flower capitals. Opposite the handle is engraved a coat-of-arms. Silver body, raised, embossed and matting with engraved armorials, cast finial and legs, wooden handle, height, to top of finial, 9.4 cm, width, side to handle, 15.8 cm, weight, gross, 190 g, 1758-1759. Louis XV.
