Bowl, New Hall Factory

An image of Bowl. New Hall Porcelain Factory, Staffordshire. Circular with deep curved sides, standing on a footring. Decorated in gold in the centre with a stylized flowerhead with dotted extensions creating a star, and round the top of the sides with a narrow border formed by a continuous black wavy stem with small trefoil leaves, gold trefoil leaves, and puce berries. A gold band encircles the rim, and there is one on the exterior below the rim, and another at the top of the footring. Pattern no. 280. Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, thrown, painted overglaze with black and red enamel, and gilded. Height, whole, 7.3 cm, width, whole, 15.3 cm, circa 1797-1803.
