Netsuke: katabori: Pumpkin and three egg plants. Tomonobu, Japan. A grouping of a pumpkin and three egg plants, the latter with stained black detailing. The stalk of the pumpkin forms the himotoshi. Wood, carved and partly stained, height, whole, 2.0 cm width, whole, 4.3 cm, circa 1770-1830. Edo Period (1615-1868).
