Continental glass. Pocket glass. Unknown glasshouse, Spain, Almería province. The glass is of flattened oval form with gadrooning round the base, and on the sides, the inscription AVE MARIA between horizontal bands of ribbing. Bluish-green mould-blown glass, height, whole, 8.9 cm, length, whole, 6.3 cm, circa 1600-1650. Sir Ivor and Lady Batchelor Bequest through The Art Fund.
