ORNAMENTATION: Acanthus initials [1 â 7 ll.] highlighted in gold (that on fol. 2r enclosing liquid gold and silver drawing of St Francis receiving stigmata), on blue, green, pink or purple grounds, with full or partial architectural (fol. 54v) or strewn-flower borders on brushed gold grounds including animals, birds, insects and a scene with man chasing birds away from vineyard (fol. 20r).
