Plate. Wedgwood, Josiah (English potter 1730-1795). Made in Josiah Wedgwood's factory at Burslem and printed in Liverpool by Sadler and Green. Circular with wavy edge, narrow sloping rim, shallow curved sides, and flat centre. Decorated in the centre with a vignette showing a man fishing beside a lake, flanked by buildings and trees, and on the rim with six floral sprays. Cream-coloured earthenware (Queen's ware), moulded with featheredge, and printed onglaze in lilac, diameter, whole, 19.4 cm, circa 1765-1770. Rococo.
