Saucer. Ding Yao ware. The saucer is circular with shallow sloping sides. The flat centre is incised with a lotus flower and foliage. With an oval label printed in black, with a tower and 'Malcolm Collection', and inscribed in blue black ink with 'D./49'. White stoneware, with an incised decoration under the ivory white glaze, and a rim mounted in what may be copper. Height 2.5 cm, diameter 13 cm, 960- 1127. Northern Song (960-1127). Chinese. Acquisition Credit: Lent to the museum by Helen H. L. Whittow (nee Malcolm).
