Draughtsman: Cumberland, George
From the Fairhaven Fund.

Method of acquisition: Bought (1977) by Covent Garden Gallery Ltd.
This watercolour is taken from several sketchbooks of English and Welsh views gathered into two albums by the artist's daughter Eliza. The drawings are dated between 1815 and 1828. They therefore belong to the period after 1808 when Cumberland lived in Bristol, and held a position of considerable importance among local artists there.
