Method of acquisition: Bequeathed (1985) by Keynes, Geoffrey

Note

Verso: used for cleaning the brush, watercolour. Geoffrey Keynes was convinced that the kaleidoscope of colours on the verso were intended to tint the recto, but they are applied so haphazardly, without reference to the figure of 'Mrs. Blake', that it seems much more likely that the paper was used by Cumberland to clean his brush.
