I have / seen a view even of Stonehenge, taken in a point, where / indeed I could never find it, which gave something like a / picturesq shape to that most formal of all objects(underlined). In ta- / king a Natural view of a country(underlined), there is more difficulty, than / the portrait of a single object(underlined). You may however here, plant, / or cut down trees, & make such other alterations, as time may well be supposed to make. On the foreground you must take / liberty. - But even in fictitious subjects, where the painter / may form his own composition, no greater task lies upon / him, than to bring the several parts of his picture into an agreable / whole(underlined). / A landscape consists comonly of three parts _ a foreground, / a middle
