"This is the sixth of the Clover Hill editions of the Chilmark Press. The edition comprises: 12 copies, lettered A-L and signed by the artist, each containing a set of signed proofs of the etchings in first state, and a set of signed prints in final state; of which four copies are for presentation. 135 copies, numbered I-CXXXV and signed by the artist, each containing a set of [8] signed prints in final state; of which ten copies are for presentation. 270 copies, numbered 1-270 ..." Museum has number XXXVIII, signed by the artist. "Designed and printed by Will and Sebastian Carter at the Rampant Lions Press, Cambridge in Hermann Zapf's Palatino types, the etchings printed by Studio Prints, paper made by J. Barcham Green, bound by Wigmore Bindery."--Colophon. Binding: Quarter brown niger morocco, brown cloth sides, with gilt ornament (bull's head) in centre of upper board and gilt lettering on spine. Accompanying etchings boxed - quarter bound brown niger morocco, with marbled paper sides; gilt lettering on spine. Both volumes in slipcase.
