Description

Ruby-back saucer dish. Hard-paste porcelain painted in famille rose enamel colours, and gilding, with a seated lady and two boys beside a table decked with 'Antiques'.

Ruby-back saucer dish. Hard-paste porcelain painted in pink, blue, green, yellow, black, white, aubergine, brown and iron-red enamel colours, and gilding. The shallow flared sides have a lipped rim and rest on a low tapered foot. The interior is delicately enamelled with a lady seated resting her elbow on a bamboo table which is decked with 'Hundred Antiques' and surrounded by large storage jars, gazing down at two boys, one holding a gilt sceptre and the other playing bamboo pipes. The underside is applied with a dark rose-pink enamel.
