Description

Linen damask, with a checked outer border, and a double turnover inner border with a pattern of a waved stem with leaves, flowers, grapes, butterfly, cock, peacock, stork, etc. The ground is covered by an all-over design of scenes from the life of Jacob with inscriptions accompanying each scene. The figures are wearing early 17th century costume.
