Description

Linen whitework sampler worked with linen thread in double hemstitch, cut and drawn work with needle lace filling stitches, pulled work, hollie point, and superimposed buttonhole stitch. All the edges of the sampler are hemmed. On the right hand side the initials 'F.N' and 'W.S' and the date 1648 are worked.
