Maker: Wenetun, Frances
Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross, double running and satin stitch. The top of the sampler is taken up by a band with 17 detached motifs in double running, and the name 'Frances Wenentvn' in cross stitch. The remainder of the canvas is divided into 11 horizontal bands one of which contains 'boxers'.
History note: Purchased at Sotheby's sale 14 July 1927
