Maker: Wright, Mary
Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross, detached, buttonhole, filling, Holbein and satin stitches. The sampler comprises 24 horizontal bands which include repeat border patterns, a "pineapple" band, Boxers(?) either side of a lion and stag beneath an oak tree, and the inscription "MARY WRIGHT IS M/ NAME AND WITH MY NE/dL I WROUGHT THE SA/ Me AND GOODY REAd WA/ S MY DAME 1669".
