Maker: Blade, Joan Rose
Band sampler, linen, embroidered with linen thread and polychrome silks in cross, double hem, double running and satin stitch. Linen threads in double hem, satin and counted satin stitch with cut work and needle lace. The sampler comprises 16 horizontal bands which include repeat border patterns, alphabets, and the inscription "IOAN ROSE BLADE" and the date 1674.
