Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in double running, running and needle lace filling stitches. The sampler comprises seven horizontal bands which include an alphabet spread over three lines, repeat border patterns and a design formed by sprigs of cowslip.
History note: Purchased at Sotheby's sale, November 2, 1928
