Description

Band sampler, linen, worked with linen thread in double hem, counted satin, double running, back and Algerian eye stitch with detached buttonhole bars. Plain selvedge at top, other edges hemmed. The sampler comprises 13 horizontal bands of repeat patterns with cut and drawn work, needle weaving and needle lace filling stitches. Bands contain mainly geometric patterns, irregularly arranged,several incomplete. The inscription in the top right corner reads 'A M'.
