Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross, eyelet hole and satin stitch. The sampler comprises nine horizontal bands separated by narrow border designs in geometric satin stitch. The top band contains a repeat border pattern; bands two, three, four and six an inscription; bands five and seven border designs of strawberries and blue berries and bands eight and nine repeat border patterns. The inscriptions reads ' My LIFe IS A FLOWer The TIMe It Hath To / Last Is Mixt With WINd ANd Shook With / Every BLast Fear God And Honour The King / Lord Give Me WISDOM TO DIRect MY WAY / I Beg Not Riches NOR Yet Length OF DaYS / Sweet ChiLdren Wisdom You / INVites TO Hearken To Her / VOICe She Offers TO YOU Rar / E DeLights MOst WOrthy OF / Her Choice." Lower left " O ALL Ye Nations / Of The World Prais / Ye The Lord Alway / And ALL Ye PeoPLe / Every Where Se F / orth he Lord I say" Lower right " His Noble Praise For / Great His Kindness Is / To Vs His Truth End / ures For Aye Wheref / ore Praise Ye The Lor / Our God Praise Ye T"
