Description

Sampler, yellow linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross-stitch. There is a selvedge on the left edge; the other edges are turned under and stitched. The Ten Commandments are worked within two arches above an almost symmetrical arrangement of floral and figurative motifs. The inscription reads ' made by me Barbarah Jones ye year 1723'.
