Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross, eyelet hole, Florentine, Holbein and satin stitch. The sampler comprises 21 horizontal bands which include repeat border patterns, alphabets, numerals, sprigs, detached motifs of trees, birds and plants and the inscription ' This Is My second W(or)k Altho The/Wood Be Wide I was Sent To Hvnt/The Bvck and Doe Being But A Child/When This You See remember Mee/Elisabeth Wiber Aged 9 Years In/March The 22 In The Year Of Ovr/ Lord God 1748'.
