Darning sampler of cotton muslin, embroidered with polychrome silks in darning, chain, stem, whipped-running, cross and drawn fabric stitches and pattern or damask darning. The edges are turned under and hem stitched. A central floral spray and four small detached leaf motifs are surrounded by eight examples of various darning patterns with the inscription '1806 Mary Jennings' at the bottom.
