Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross-stitch. The canvas is divided into 18 horizontal bands some containing pictorial motifs

Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross-stitch. A blank space is left at the top of the sampler. Beneath this the canvas is divided into 18 horizontal bands containing pictorial motifs. 1- tree, large and small lion, 2- Oak tree, parrot on spray of fruit, bird, frog and rabbit, 3- Crucifixion scene, starts, instruments of passion, flower sprigs, 4- pear tree, birds, bear, crayfish, goose, peacock, pelican in her piety, squirrel, turnip, woman spinning, 5- alphabet and numerals, 6- alphabet and numerals, 7- alphabet and Roman numerals, 8- Alphabet and numerals, 9- alphabet and numerals, 10- alphabet and numerals and bands 11 to 18 filled by border designs of decreasing width.
