Linen sampler embroidered in polychrome silks and silver metal thread worked in back, tent, cross, stem, eyelet, eye, faggot, rococo, Rumanian, ladder, braid and plaited braid stitch with bullion knots. There is a single blue line selvedge at the top and bottom of the sampler and the sides are hemmed. The spot motifs are both floral, including a rose, oak leaf, acorn and strawberry and geometrical including interlaced work, S- shapes and a swastika. There is some all-over work.
