Description

Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross, eyelet hole and satin stitch. The sampler comprises ten horizontal bands which include alphabets, initials 'WS EES dz', the date '1795', a swan, a peacock, a man, a bird, a child, a mound with rabbits, a church, a goose, vase of flowers and the Temptation of Adam and Eve.
