Description

Sampler, unbleached canvas, embroidered with polychrome silks and wool in cross-stitch. The top has a band with capital letters, A to H, worked with each letter in duplicate. Below this two repeat border patterns are placed horizontally with in the interspaces the name and date 'A. Hart 1691' and detached motifs (Baskets, flowering plants, lozenges and sprigs).
