Berlin wool work sampler, canvas, embroidered with 'Berlin wool', silk thread and some beads in cross, Florentine, herringbone and geometric satin stitch. All the edges have a selvedge, and at one end the sampler is attached to a cylindrical roller covered with tartan ribbon, the other end is bound with red ribbon. The sampler comprises over 60 detached motifs chiefly all over designs, floral, foliated and geometrical arranged irregularly over the ground.
